I’m heading to PLA 2012 in Philadelphia on Wednesday. Looking forward to many things–lunch with David Baldacci and Joyce Carol Oates; closing keynote address by the one and only Betty White; and lots of informative sessions in between. Also looking forward to The Reading Terminal Market and dinner with my husband and son Friday night at Fago de Chao, the all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse! While I’m pretty sure I do not need an endless supply of meat on my plate, my two boys are looking forward to the adventure, and I’m looking forward to their company. On Saturday afternoon, before heading home, we will be touring Eastern State Penitentiary. I’ve actually always been fascinated by prisons. I once toured Alcatraz with my husband when we were in San Francisco, and I now watch the new TV show by the same name. I have no plausible explanation for this fascination.
However, the real reason for this post is to say that I will be guest blogging the conference over at the PLAblog! I have never been a guest blogger before, and I’m not certain yet exactly what I’ll be blogging about. But I will make sure to link to my posts here, too.
So, if you can’t make it to PLA in Philly but want some inside information, check in from time to time with the PLA blog. Or right here. Either way you get a taste of the conference. Unfortunately, you will have to imagine the taste of the delicacies from the farmers market at Reading Terminal. I’ll do my best but sometimes you just have to be there.
